Vision, Value and Aims

Aims Fylingdales C of E VC Primary School aims to...

• provide activities and experiences which enable children to flourish and achieve their potential academically, spiritually, morally, socially and creatively,

• provide the experiences and opportunities to enable pupils to become lifelong learners,

• deliver a wide-ranging, stimulating and challenging curriculum, helping all to develop enquiring minds and independence in learning

• meet pupils’ diverse needs by overcoming barriers to learning, identifying those vulnerable to underachievement and putting in place appropriate measures to enable them to access education,

• enable our pupils to gain an understanding of other peoples’ lives and how their decisions and choices affect others in our community and globally,

• develop a range of skills, attitudes and values which will prepare pupils to lead healthy, safe and fulfilling lives, to be active citizens and to make a positive contribution to the wider world,

• promote and achieve the highest possible standards of behaviour, courtesy, work and care by always giving our best and providing opportunities for everyone to reach their potential

• give responsibility to children and develop their sense of self-worth and a positive self-image as a foundation for learning

• acknowledge, value and develop the major role of parents in the education of their children and to involve them in school self-evaluation

• To be approachable and inspire confidence in everyone who is part of the Fylingdales community by valuing their contribution

• To create an ethos where respect, compassion, sensitivity, tolerance, support and concern for others reflects our values and beliefs and where good behaviour is expected

Ethos Statement
Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at Parish and Diocesan level.

The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
